LEADERSHIP
DEVELOPMENT
Building intrinsic motivation

LEADERS ARE NOT BORN,
THEY ARE MADE.
Our leadership program empowers teens to develop the skills they need to become confident, capable leaders. Through a combination of hands-on service projects, leadership lessons, and mentorship, participants learn essential qualities such as responsibility, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. They are challenged to set goals, make decisions, and take ownership of their actions, all while making a meaningful impact in their community. By fostering a growth mindset and providing practical experiences, we prepare young people to be effective leaders who can inspire change and lead with purpose in all areas of life.
SERVICE
INTERSHIPS
Service Internships are an exciting opportunity for juniors and seniors in high school to take their leadership skills to the next level. Teens can apply for 16-week service commitments in the fall, spring, or summer. They lead their peers, manage tasks, track progress, and deliver results to nonprofits. From start to finish, they lead with purpose, developing key skills like teamwork, time management, and problem-solving. Each intern has an exit interview with the executive director of the organization that benefited from the service project to validate their impact and reflect on lessons learned from their experience. Service Internships are not just about making an impact—they’re about growing as leaders.
FLIP THE
SWITCH
"Flip the Switch" is more than a speech—it's a mindset. Delivered by our Presidents, this empowering message reminds our members to leave their personal challenges at the door and fully focus on the impact they are making through service. It’s about shifting gears, embracing positivity, and channeling energy into creating change. By adopting this mindset, our members grow as individuals and leaders, making the most of their time here and inspiring those around them.
DONT BRING ME
A DEAD CAT
This is our first and most foundational leadership lesson. "Don’t Bring Me a Dead Cat, Bring Me a Shovel" teaches the importance of solution-oriented thinking. Instead of focusing solely on problems, we empower our members to take ownership, think critically, and present actionable solutions. This mindset not only builds stronger leaders but also fosters a culture of accountability and innovation, helping our teens make a lasting impact in their service and beyond.
